The DBIC summer school at Peking University's Guanghua School of Management was the best course I've ever taken. This intense program immersed me in Chinese business culture through fascinating company visits, stimulating lectures by renowned professors, and engaging cultural activities alongside diverse international peers. I gained invaluable insights into China's unique business landscape and innovative strategies at Asia's top university. This program is an absolute must for anyone seeking a transformative experience in an international environment and a competitive edge in the global market.
I really liked the structure of the DBIC program. It combined classroom lectures with industry visits and cultural immersion and gave a holistic picture of the business ecosystem in China. Overall, this was a very unique learning experience. I thoroughly enjoyed gaining rich perspectives on the interplay between business and policy.
The DBIC program was a very enlightening 2 weeks. Visiting top companies like Bytedance and Nio as well as hearing from PKU's professors about topics like AI or Marketing gave me a very holistic picture of China. The classmates I met were from all over the world which meant learning about China in the context of other countries like America, Singapore, and parts of Latin America. I look forward to heading back to China to apply my learnings soon.
DBIC provided me with the tools, network, and interest necessary to engage with the Chinese industry in the future. The staff organized an action-packed program that immersed us in various aspects of Chinese culture while deepening our understanding of how to collaborate with business leaders in China. Participating in DBIC has been the highlight of my MBA program.
The DBIC program was a life changing experience. From the fun and inclusive cohort to the engaging professors to the insightful corporate site visits, this program expanded my existing knowledge about China and the business environment. It provided an immeasurable opportunity to engage in a cultural exchange that was welcoming and open to curiosity and learning. I highly recommend this experience to every MBA student who is interested in building their global toolkit. It’s a must do bucket list course!
I really loved this program and am so impressed by how it was managed. I had an incredible experience studying in China for two weeks through the Doing Business in China (DBIC) program at Peking University. The program was excellently structured, combining cultural events and company visits with our classroom sessions. During our free time, we explored the local areas and enjoyed authentic dining experiences, which allowed us to immerse ourselves in the culture even more. This was truly the best way to see and learn about China
I had a wonderful time during the 2 weeks of the DBIC program learning about all aspects of the Chinese economy and business practices from PKU professors. They were extremely dedicated and engaging, walking us through the implications of topics fundamental to China’s past, present, and future, and patiently responding to our various questions with real-life examples and nuanced insights from their work with Chinese businesses. Through their lectures, I got a very strong foundation to understanding Chinese economy, business practices, and culture.
The DBIC May 2024 Program was to say the least, one of the most enriching and fulfilling short exchange programs to have been in. The diverse mix of people in the program made the experience amazing. We explored China in our spare time, with a good mix of company visits to cater to various fields of interest! The cultural activities were eye-opening, and I was very glad that we are allowed to experience 3 cities with very distinct characters. The professors also stimulated our minds and provided engaging sessions throughout the program! All in all, I would recommend DBIC to anyone planning a short exchange and you really couldn’t as for a more well-paced, fun and engaging program!
